Fossil Free SA is run by its staff (currently the coordinator and three part-time consultants), but legally constituted as a voluntary association of:
• members (around 20)
• with staff oversight from those members serving on our board (technically our management Committee (ManCo) that has delegated operations to the FFSA team).
Members are invited to apply, are confirmed as members by resolution of the ManCo, and are then eligible to serve on ManCo.
Our small membership is comprised of past and present members of ManCo, and engaged supporters of our work.
What we ask of members:
• Endorse and support our goals of working for human rights and eliminating fossil fuels in South Africa.
• Follow our news as much as you are able to.
• Support and promote our work within your own networks, as and when you can.
• Attend our AGMs if available and give thought to either serving on or nominating others to serve on ManCo.
