Regional Samaúma's Choro Performance Program immerses musicians in the performance practice of Brazilian choro while fostering community through shared musical experience. The program promotes both the repertoire and spirit of choro as a living tradition with deep historical roots.
Led by Fernanda Silveira (cavaquinho), Fabio Oliveira (pandeiro), and Gabriele Leite (6-string guitar), participants meet weekly for faculty-coached ensemble sessions inspired by the traditional Roda de Choro.
Why Study with Regional Samaúma?

Our faculty regularly performs at venues including Barbès and Lincoln Center and has collaborated with many of today's leading Brazilian and international artists.
The Choro Performance Program brings this professional experience into a welcoming, hands-on learning environment where students strengthen their musicianship while becoming part of New York's growing choro community.
