CSF Lead Volunteer 2026 Applications

  This year, we are seeking to identify in July a number of lead volunteers who can commit to working occasional hours preparing for the festival beforehand as well 8 hours during the festival weekend of October 23rd and 24th, 2026 including supervision of other volunteers during the festival. Other volunteers will cover for you during your breaks from work during the festival. Lead volunteer positions include stipends of $100, a ticket to the invitation only Seaweed Speakeasy and a limited edition, not-for-sale (nevertheless, priceless!) 2026 volunteer T-shirt.

Persons to fill lead volunteer positions are sought for the following roles:

  • Friday Moss Landing Check-in Coordinator – Setup check-in booths, oversee and train a team of volunteers to use ticket scanning app for checking in attendees for several different tours and a workshop on Friday, Oct. 23rd in Moss Landing. 

Main festival day, Saturday, October 24th

  • Vendor Assistant – identifying vendor space and assisting with unloading and loading and needs during setup and departure.
  • Stanton Theatre Presentations & Panel Discussions – Check-in speakers and moderators and coordinate sequence of presentations with technical support.
  • Stanton Gallery Presentations & Panel Discussions – Oversee setting up chairs in gallery morning of the festival, check-in speakers and moderators, provide technical support. 
  • Workshops Coordinator – Before the festival organize supplies for each workshop and plan for the change-over and setup for each session. During festival day, check-in workshop participants and lead the turnover from one workshop to the next. 
  • Plaza Mainstage Coordinator – Communicate with bands about timing of performances, assist in band turnover, troubleshoot and access help for sound problems.
  • Welcome & Information Tent Leader – Know the schedule of events and the spatial layout of festival activities to answer questions about when and where each activity occurs, answer questions, provide copies of map and schedule, and have festival staff contacts.
  • Seaweed Raw Bar tastings assistant & assistant for Friday seaweed collection tour – On Friday, assist with collection of seaweeds during the rocky shore tour for use for the following day. On Saturday, facilitate demonstrations by assisting with setup, execution and distribution of samples. A Safserve certificate is needed for this position, and can be easily acquired.
