We are actively recruiting labor support doulas at various stages of their professional journey across all 100 counties of North Carolina. While we initially focused on serving BCBS FEP members, we've received numerous requests from private clients seeking doula services. Therefore, we're thrilled to announce that we're now expanding our offerings to include private clients. Additionally, we'll soon be adding postpartum doula care to our services.
We require all doulas to be certified or actively working toward certification.
FYI:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC requires all doulas to be certified or actively working toward certification with DONA International. They are in the process of vetting different training & certifying organizations so we can accept their doulas. It is anticipated that by mid to late 2025, BCBS of NC will release a comprehensive list of approved certification organizations. Once this list is available, doulas will have the option to select from a variety of certification pathways to meet the program’s requirements. The list of the approved organizations will be found on our website.
For those with training or certification with another organization, DONA offers an alternative path to certification. See DONA.org for more information. For those interested, The Doula Exchange plans to offer a DONA approved training in several regions of North Carolina.
