Join the GenAI FLC - Spring 2027
The CTL, in collaboration with the Research Computing Department (OIT) and the Department of Computer Science, is announcing a call for participants for a GenAI Faculty Learning Community (FLC) focused on Assessment Re-Design.  These 7 sessions will begin in January and meet every other week.  

In this Faculty Learning Community, participants will examine how generative AI affects assessment design, student learning, and academic integrity. Across seven sessions, participants will review one current assessment, identify where student thinking and decision-making are visible, revise the assessment to better support learning and appropriate AI use, and draft a student-facing AI purpose statement grounded in their course goals.


This work is part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant.  Participants will receive a $450 stipend for attending all sessions and for completing the following deliverables: 
  • A revised course assessment that addresses generative AI use/misuse while aligning with learning goals.

  • A brief rationale explaining what changed and why.

  • A brief student-facing AI purpose statement.

  • A communication plan for explaining expectations, appropriate use, uncertainty, and potential consequences to students.
