Adopt a Refugee Family for Christmas 2026
During this holiday season, Gathering Humanity invites you to support our refugee neighbors by adopting a family from around the world. Refugees have all survived difficult conditions, escaped war, torture or persecution. They arrive with almost nothing, yet need to resettle in a new country, a new culture, with a new language. It can be overwhelming. Your contributions provide a warm welcome, fulfill needs, and help our new neighbors during a difficult transition this holiday season. 

Please sign up below to adopt a refugee family for Christmas. This service opportunity is a way to get personally involved: you will know names and ages, country of origin, shop specifically for someone in need, and hopefully have the opportunity to give your gift directly to them. Scroll to the bottom of the page for more important details, and check your emails regularly for your confirmation, refugee match and delivery info! 

Registration for this program will close on December 1st.

PICTURES/PHOTOS OF REFUGEES: Because refugees are a vulnerable population - in some cases with the Taliban or mob scouring the internet seeking retribution on them or family members back home - we have a strict policy to NOT post pictures on any social media. If you would like to take pictures, please consider taking pictures of the gifts, backs of heads, hands or just the volunteer group. Do you agree to the no pictures/photos policy?

PICTURES/PHOTOS RELEASE OF YOU/GROUP: GH would LOVE to hear about your experience and use any pictures you take (of your group preparing, delivering, and creative shots with no refugees faces please, as agreed to above). Please email us about your experience and include pictures to: ghchristmas@gatheringhumanity.org (just reply to Christmas emails). We will not share full names, locations or your vulnerable information, to also protect our volunteers.
