Thank you for your interest in applying for a bursary place.
Applications are now open for bursary places on the 20 to 25 September 2026 Writing Retreat and will close at 11.59pm on Friday 7 August.
These bursary places exist to make the retreats accessible to people working on the frontline of public service and those actively involved in collective social movements who might not otherwise be able to attend.
Before completing this form, please take a moment to read the FAQs. They answer common questions about eligibility, the application process, deposits, timelines and how bursary places are allocated.
Accommodation
Rooms at the Old Rectory are twin or triple occupancy and may be mixed gender, depending on the final group. All rooms share a mixed gender bathroom.
On the application form, you can indicate your room sharing preference. I'll do my very best to accommodate everyone's comfort and needs.
Refundable Deposit
Successful applicants will be asked to pay a refundable deposit of £300 to secure their place. This will be returned to you on departure from the retreat.
If the deposit would prevent you from applying or attending, please get in touch with me directly at hollyarigby@gmail.com. I never want the deposit itself to be a barrier to someone joining the retreat.
Thank you for taking the time to apply. I read every application personally and appreciate the time and care that goes into every application.
