Stanford Laptop Orchestra (SLOrk) — Spring 2023 Application
Thank you for you interest in SLOrk!  Please fill out the following to apply to the Stanford Laptop Orchestra as a spring quarter course (either Music 128 or CS 170).  Priority will be given to those who have applied by Monday 2/27 (sooner is better). Results will be announced thereafter. You will be emailed with your enrollment status.

Please note that the course includes performances that are outside of class times. By applying, you are committing to be available for the ensemble's performances on the evening of May 4th, 2023 (with an appointment earlier in the afternoon or morning for dress rehearsal), and June 10th, 2023 (with load-in and dress rehearsals on June 8th and 9th from 1-9pm). Thank you!

NIME Conference (Mexico City, May 31-June 2) *
Are you thinking you might attend the New Interfaces for Musical Expression conference in Mexico City this year? It happens to conflict with our Week 9 Wednesday rehearsal, but since NIME and SLOrk are such good friends we will make special provisions to accommodate every member who attends the conference or that week's regular Wednesday practice.
Wednesday night classes/rehearsals *
Can you commit to attending class (aka our rehearsals) 7:30 to 10:30pm every single Wednesday night (except if you go to NIME, per previous question) from April 5th through June 7th?
Rehearsal setup and teardown *
We expect each member to come early to set up and/or stay late to clean up for each Wednesday rehearsal.  Expect about 20 minutes of extra time in the first half of the quarter and then more like 30 minutes thereafter.

Can you commit to performing on the evening of May 4th, including a dress rehearsal earlier in the day?
