Dunwoody Elementary PTO Registration - 2016/2017 School Year
Any parent with children in Dunwoody Elementary School can join our school’s PTO – and they should!

The mission of our PTO is to promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff of Dunwoody Elementary School. Our efforts serve to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential.

The PTO sponsors assistance to teachers in the classroom setting, raises monies for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction, and provides a non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent-teacher organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

Please read the information below regarding ways to support your DES PTO.
Tiger Fund (Suggested Amount: $150)
The Tiger Fund is the primary fundraiser for the PTO. During the 2015-2016 school year, the PTO was able to purchase the following due to your generous donations to the Tiger Fund: an enhanced sound system for the cafeteria, two rolling i-pad carts to be utilized by all students, benches around campus, Orton Gillingham certification for Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers, teacher training, Grounds/Organic Garden, Book Fair, Field Day, Teacher Appreciation, Cultural Assemblies, and much, much more. Thank you for your contribution!
Annual Dues ($35/student - includes DES signature shirt to be worn for field trips and spirit wear)
Annual Dues provide a $150 stipend to all homeroom and special area teachers to help supplement classroom supplies. Annual Dues also pay for a winter and summer break cash gift to all administration, teachers, staff, and bus drivers at DES. Finally, your child’s DES T-shirt is purchased with the payment of Annual Dues, (which you will receive on the day of Registration). Administration and teachers are encouraging all students to wear this shirt on all field trips for safety purposes! This shirt may also be worn throughout the year for events such as STEM and Spirit days!
PTO Membership Dues - (PTO dues MUST be paid in order to volunteer as a Room Parent in your child's classroom.)
Membership in the PTO is open to anyone who believes in and supports the mission and purposes of the PTO. Each individual member of the PTO shall pay the $5 dues. All PTO members have voting rights at PTO General Membership Meetings.
