The Restorative Practice Training program initiative in the Division of Student Affairs is designed to empower leaders within the division with the skills and knowledge to implement restorative philosophy and restorative practices in their departments.
This collaborative effort, supported by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, & Department of Resident Life offers a comprehensive 16-hour training spread over 4 days. Participants will engage in in-person, interactive sessions focusing on foundational restorative justice principles, such as connectedness, peace, authenticity, accountability, healing, and inclusion. By the end of the training, DSA leaders will be equipped to design and facilitate Tier 1 restorative circles, apply trauma-responsive practices, honor one another's humanity, and promote a culture of equity and justice within their teams.
This initiative underscores our commitment to nurturing an empathetic, connected campus community, where constructive dialogue and mutual respect are at the forefront of our interactions and decision-making processes.
