Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers

Job Summary: We are seeking passionate and dedicated lead and assistant teachers who love students and thrive in a collaborative, faith-based, nonprofit environment. As part of our summer staff, you will have the opportunity to inspire and support elementary or middle school students while utilizing your teaching gifts. If you are a team player who loves working with children and making a meaningful impact, we invite you to join us this summer!

Adventure Days (Kindergarten-5th grade)
Summer Academy (6th-8th grade)

Location: 
East Community Center
5933 S. Fairfield St. 
Littleton, CO 80120

Schedule:
Six weeks: Training on June 22-26, Camp on June 29 – 31
8:30am-4:00pm M-Th
9:00-4:00 Fridays for all staff meeting + planning

Hours/Pay: 
Pay Scales: Lead Teachers (must be 21+) ($20-$25)
Assistant Teachers: ($15-$17)
Hours: 40 hrs/week/6 weeks

Position Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
- Follower of Jesus

Preferred Experience:
- Understanding and heart for Hispanic-Immigrant community
- Work with at-risk populations
- Previous oversight of staff/volunteers
- Some Spanish helpful

Responsibilities of Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers (over 21) Include:
-Help plan and lead activities under supervision of Camp Directors
-Build relationships with students in order to mentor and encourage students in the
disciplines of faith, education, and leadership
-Administrative and communication duties
-Attend training in first week and weekly Friday meetings/staff lunch
-All teachers report to Camp Directors (Adventure Days or Summer Academy)

Additional Responsibilities of Lead Teachers (over 21) Include:
-Responsible for supervision of a group of campers (children)
-Assist in supervision and mentoring of Assistant Teachers 
-Classroom management skills 
-Curriculum development skills
-Collaborate with Camp Director on speakers, field trips, volunteers
-Good driving record, willing to transport students in NLP van (over 21)
-Plan and lead activities under supervision of Camp Director
-Reports to Camp Director (Adventure Days or Summer Academy)
