MDEM HMA Notice of Interest (NOI)
Please complete this form to indicate your interest in pursuing an activity under one of the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grant programs administered by MDEM. Completed NOIs will be reviewed by MDEM to determine basic applicability for the three (3) HMA programs as available.  

Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) - This grant is designed to promote mitigation measures to reduce community disaster risk and disaster risk awareness. It is nationally competitive. 

Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) - This grant caters to flood-prone communities registered in the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program). It is nationally competitive and tends to prioritize repetitive loss (RL) and severe repetitive loss (SRL) projects.  Communities must be in good standing with the NFIP and the property must have an active NFIP policy. 

Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) - This grant is designed to fund plans and projects that aim to reduce long-term community disaster risk. This funding source is only activated following a Presidential Disaster Declaration. 

Submission of an NOI does not guarantee future approval of awards.
