We want to get feedback from you. What are your ideas for
short term goals we can ask of the Police Department and City to help make an impact in robberies and other violent crimes that are occurring in the district? We will gather these ideas from community over the course of two weeks and share with CPD. We will ask CPD to take our input and collaborate to come up with clear, measurable goals that come from the community.
As crime rises in the community, we hear the community desire to apply some short term, triage ideas to reduce crime. However, we also cannot lose sight of the long and mid term goals that will impact public safety at the root. Solutions we continue to remain committed to include expanding our public safety system to have responders who have the training, skills, and tools to address the wide variety of public safety crises. Additionally, creating communities that are fully funded and invested in is instrumental in meaningful and lasting public safety.
