If you don’t know what TED Talks are go immediately over to http://www.ted.com/ and take a look at one of the 1400 videos. Seeing is believing.

In short, TED Talks are relatively short videos (around 18 minutes) from some of the most engaging speakers around the world. Some famous TED speakers include Bono, J. J. Abrams, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, and Stephen Hawking. These videos cover an endless range of topics, initially about Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED), but now incorporating any number of subjects. Plus, they are free to distribute and share non-commercially under a Creative Commons license.

Note that this is a TEDx talk. TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community.

The positions available for the 2016 project group are:
- Vice Project Manager
- Speaker and Content Manager
- Business Relations Manager
- PR and Communications Manager
- Event Manager

Note: Common for the whole project group recruitment is that we want people who are  team-players. Moreover, not only are you passionate about TEDx but you are also willing to put down the amount of time and work required to make TEDxKTH 2016 a success story.

For the position that you are applying, previous relevant experience is an advantage but not an necessity. You should also have high aims and ambitions for what you would like to achieve in your role, as well as a concretized plan on how to realize and achieve these goals. Each manager will also get the opportunity to recruit his or her group of hosts if wished for.

As the Vice Project Manager, you will be working closely with the project manager in shaping the 2016 talk. You and the project manager will have the outmost responsibility for making TEDxKTH 2016 happen and successful. This includes among others making sure TEDxKTH are in compliance with all TEDx rules, leading the project group and making sure that all managerial areas are running smoothly. Prior experience in finance and administration is meriting.

As the Speaker and Content Manager, you will be responsible for inviting and coordinating the speakers. The project group will brainstorm together around which speakers to invite but it is you who makes sure that we have speakers by inviting them and giving them all the support that they need from the invite acceptance to the talk. You will also be securing the content quality of each talk, meaning that none of TEDx ground rules for the speakers are violated.

As the Business Relations Manager, you will be responsible for all company communication and contacts of TEDxKTH 2016, thus establishing and shaping all sponsorships. You should be a reliable person who is not hesitant to cold-call companies. Prior experience as a business manager or as a salesperson is meriting.

As the PR and Communications manager, you will be responsible for marketing TEDxKTH 2016 so that it will reach its full potential audience. Your task is to inform to students at KTH (and any other audience) about TEDxKTH and design and produce all marketing material (both physical and non-physical) relevant. You will also be managing all social media pages and be contacting the press/news media if relevant.

As the Event Manager, you will be responsible for the entertainment in-between talks as well as any circumjacent events of TEDxKTH 2016. You will have the opportunity for plenty of creative outlet as long as you are able to concretize your ideas. You should also be someone who is calm in stressful and uncertain situations.
