The Otter Student Union (OSU) is the heartbeat of campus and a bridge to surrounding communities, providing spaces, opportunities, and advocacy that cultivate belonging reflective of CSUMB’s founding vision. We create thriving student-centered spaces that support empowerment, authenticity, and Otter pride to cultivate socially conscious agents of change with sustainable connections between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and surrounding communities.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR OSU BOARD DIRECTORS:
• Current CSUMB student in good standing; not on probation of any kind (academic, housing, or judicial)
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for executive board positions
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for student director positions
• Familiarity with the Otter Student Union is a plus but is not required; must have a desire to promote campus involvement, community, and growth
• Good time management and communication skills; ability to work in a team setting; commitment to diversity; and willingness to learn
• There are no class standing requirements to qualify for any of the board positions.

Please be aware that OSU Board Meetings are three times a semester at 6 pm on Wednesdays. Dates are to be determined and attendance is mandatory.

These positions are for the 2024-2025 Academic Year (August - June)

This application will go through a series of questions regarding Student Director positions in the beginning section. This will be followed by a section regarding Executive Officer positions. You may apply for both if you would like to be considered for either a Student Director position or an Executive Board position.  The application process will be followed by an interview with the OSU Board Selection Committee.

The Otter Student Union is an officially recognized 501(c)3 auxiliary organization on campus. We operate solely for the benefit of California State University, Monterey Bay.
