Hello and thank you for taking interest in visiting and sharing in this space! The following set of simple questions will help you arrange an appointment to visit the library or to book the room for intentional communal use.
Our activities are guided by community principles to help us work towards a safer, more accountable community, please make time to read and understand them before visiting. There's also more important information on the project and library here, including accessibility, pandemic measures, and etiquette.
Weekly hours are announced on
the website and ig @waresinfoshop story highlights. You may also propose an unlisted time and we'll see if it works. When booking the space for use, you'll similarly be asked to propose a date and time, though we do recommend that you make a visit first to have a feel for the space, especially if we haven't met yet.
We do not receive first-time drop-in visits without an appointment. Ideally, you could give us at least 3 days' lead time on your preferred date in order to plan and respond. Last minute form submissions (for example made on the day itself or the night before) are unlikely to work, sorry! We typically do not open the space if no appointments are scheduled for the day.
We will email you confirmation, the address with directions (currently via a Google Doc – use an email that can access this, or alternatively we can also offer access to a CryptPad doc), and other notes as quickly as possible! Please be patient as we are volunteer-run and may have other things going on.
Keep a lookout as our email could end up in your spam folder, but in any case, check in with us if you don't receive confirmation by 2 days before the appointment, otherwise we will assume you have received our information and are going to turn up.
If you can't make your appointment for any reason at all, don't worry! Just let us know ideally a day before, by the latest. We will try our best to do the same. Visits are treated like invitations between friends, so please respect the time we put into this, no-shows without communication will lower chances of securing a visit or booking in future.
