2024 SMASH It! Workshop Submissions
Thank you for you interest in submitting to CreateTheater SMASH It! Workshops with Streaming Musicals. If you feel your musical in development is ready to present to a panel of industry experts for their feedback, we would love to have your 10 minute integrated scene/song submission followed by 20 minutes of feedback from our panel. 

We are now accepting submissions for Part 4: The Climax and the Message (Sunday, Dec. 8th at noon - 3pm)

Here are the 2024 Workshops:

Part 1: Welcome to the World (March 9) : How the First 15 Minutes of a Musical - the Opening Number, the I WANT Song and the Inciting Event - make or break your musical

Part 2: The Set Up (July 14) : Set up Act 1 to build excitement in Act 2

Part 3: Act 2 Back into the World (September 22): Build heightened action that sets up the climax to come from the first moments of Act 2

Part 4: The Climax and the Message (December 8): Nail the complete climax and send them home singing

Deadline for the SMASH It! Musical Workshop Series:

 Deadlines are:

  • Part 1: March 1st
  • Part 2: June 30th
  • Part 3: September 1st
  • Part 4: November 20th

What we provide: For your workshop fee we will provide the teaching session, the studio, piano, and, networking over food with the industry panel. You will be responsible for presenting 10 minutes of your work and will receive 20 minutes of feedback. 

Participation fee: $110 for ETC members, $150 for non-members

Observers fee: FREE for ETC members, $35 for non-members
