Ray Troll X Salmonfest Legacy Scholarship Application (2025/2026)

The Ray Troll × Salmonfest Legacy Scholarship honors the life, work and enduring influence of one of Alaska’s most beloved artists. Ray Troll’s distinctive style and powerful voice have long celebrated the deep connections between salmon, science, people and the wild landscapes we share. His artwork has become iconic throughout Alaska and beyond gracing everything from museum walls to album covers, classrooms, and, of course, the colorful heart of Salmonfest, formerly Salmonstock.

For more than a decade, Ray has lent his artistry, vision and support to Salmonfest, helping shape the festival’s identity and reminding us that art is more than decoration, it is a vital force for inspiration, communication and change. In a world facing unprecedented challenges, art continues to serve as a bridge between cultures, a call to action and a celebration of what unites us.

This scholarship carries forward that spirit by supporting the next generation of creators, dreamers and changemakers. Just as Ray Troll has used his talent to illuminate the beauty and urgency of protecting our planet, we invite applicants to show us how they, too, will use their gifts to make a lasting impact by integrating art and conservation.

The deadline to apply is March 31st, 2026. The recipient will be notified in late Spring 2026. Questions about the program can be sent to david@archesalaska.org | Financial award will be $2500 & Copy of Spawn Til' you Die book by Ray Troll.
