Entrance Essay
Every application submitted must include an entrance essay.  Your essay should address the following:

For your application essay we want you to tell us about yourself. We want you to look both forward and back. As you tell us about yourself, discuss why you want to be in Honors, and describe where you hope your Honors education will take you.  Also, Discuss influences that have shaped you as a student.  Then, write about a metaphor you think is useful for understanding your experience as a student and your sense of identity.  Explore the potential of a metaphor to be either helpful and/or harmful when thinking about identity, what has brought you to this point, along with where you hope to go.  Your response should be 300-500 words.

South Hall - Honors Dorm Application
South Hall is home to the Honors House.  It is a unique learning community in which academics are celebrated in conjunction with community commitment for excellence.  Within the Honors House are two residency halls, one for women and the other for men.  Those who live in the residences generate the vitality of the halls and contribute to the academic, spiritual, and social ambiance.  Most students who are selected to live in South Hall get a single occupancy room for the price of double occupancy. Residency is highly competitive and students are NOT GUARANTEED a spot due to limited space.

If you would like to apply to live in South Hall, please answer the questions below IN ADDITION to completing the Residence Hall Application here: http://lasierra.edu/residence-application

Please note that space in South Hall is limited, and not all Honors students are given a room in the Honors dorm. Once decisions are made, students will be notified by the residential dean of where their room assignment will be.
IF there is space available in the Honors Dorm, would you like to be considered for residency?
If you choose YES, you will be notified by the residential dean where your dorm placement will be.
