A total of $46.8 million from the American Rescue Plan Act came to recipients in Ashland County. That includes county, city, township, village governments, along with school districts, Ashland University and nonprofits.
The $1.9 trillion stimulus package, signed into law in March 2021, was intended to blunt the blow of the pandemic’s economic and social impact. It specifically took aim at providing economic relief to people of modest means.
We want to know if the spending of this money locally did that. Have the recipients of this money done enough to serve disadvantaged people?
