Destination Imagination Application ~ Oakwood City Schools
What is Destination Imagination?
Destination Imagination is an international creative problem solving competition that focuses on children generating ideas and doing their own work free from adult interference. DI requires teams of students to work together to solve challenges. The challenges encourage teams to build skills in the fields of STEM and visual/performing arts to effectively communicate their creative process. It is a very challenging experience where our participants also grow and learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, time management, respect for others and their ides, and the collaborative problem-solving process.
Who can participate?
All students k-12 are eligible to participate. However, we can only place students on teams for which we have manager. The number of people who volunteer to manage teams determines the number of students who can participate. Grades K-2 (Rising Stars, noncompetitive), Grades 3-5 (Elementary Level, competitive), Grades 6-8 (Middle Level, competitive), Grades 9-12 (Senior Level, competitive).
