NWB-Rocky Point Volunteer Application
Thank you for considering and applying to volunteer with us in Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco), Mexico! Please review the general information regarding volunteering with NWB and what to expect on NWB trips below. The application will begin on the next section of this form.

Upcoming Trip Dates:
-Feb 20-22
-March 27-31 (Spring Break: up to 3 clinic days)
-April 24-26, 2026 
-May 23-25 (Memorial Day Weekend: 2 clinic days)
-June 18-21 (Juneteenth Long Weekend: 2 clinic days)
-July 24-26 
-September 4-7 (Labor Day Long Weekend: 2 clinic days)
-October 9-11
-November 13-15
-December 18-22 (Winter Break: up to 3 clinic days)
-January 15-18, 2027 (MLK Day Long Weekend: 2 clinic days)

Packing Requirements:
- Passport
- Scrubs and your NWB shirt (if you have one), or semi-professional / outdoor wear. 
- Closed toed shoes are required.
- Bring a black or blue pen for charting.
- Medical equipment WITH CLIPBOARD if you have one.
- Plenty of water and electrolytes.
- Breakfast, lunch and snacks on clinic days.
- Beach wear: NWB may go to the beach on the day we depart Mexico depending on weather and timing for departure.
- Cash in small bills for dinners, souvenirs etc. We support the local economy. USD is widely accepted
If masking,  bring a respirator for all times except actively eating/drinking (NWB now recommends respirators: N95, KF94, FFP2, KN95. Bring your favorite or we will have them available)

Friday (or Thursday for Friday holiday long weekends)

2:00PM Meet and depart from Phoenix. Drive focused on clinical orientation, local botanical medicine, history and philosophy of NWB's work in the community of Puerto Peñasco
7:00PM Arrive at Mission Villa Granada, Dinner
7:30PM Evening orientation/skills/chart preview
 
Saturday
7:15 am Be ready to drive to the clinic located at Templo La Hermosa (https://goo.gl/maps/7zc14vZkeszKHnwx9 83553, Adolfo Ruíz Cortines 434, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Puerto Peñasco, Son., Mexico)
8 am Clinic open
7 pm Dinner (outdoor), pending clinic completion time

(1-day clinics) Brunch, beach and return!
(2-day clinics) 7:30 am Be ready to drive to the clinic located at Templo La Hermosa
8 am Clinic open

Monday/Tuesday (2-day or 3-day clinics)

- always reference your acceptance email for a confirmed final schedule 
- ending time in clinic varies
- If you have a need to leave to leave clinic by a particular time, this must be communicated with trip coordinators prior to attending 

Itinerary for longer volunteer trips will be provided upon acceptance, and are similar in departure/return plans

Drivers will be reimbursed $35 + gas cost when NWB receives gas receipts post-trip.

- Please note, private accommodation for student volunteers may not be available on every trip.
