Kittiwake’s mission is to acquire a better understanding of the role of technology in culture and society. In particular, Kittiwake looks at how technology is transforming our social, cultural, political, and economic processes. Kittiwake is a project that aims to develop the broader study of digital culture and how it relates to digital humanities and traditional humanities disciplines. Kittiwake collects different perceptions of Art, Culture, and the Digital Society, and it aims at triggering further interest in them, a deeper understanding of their value in today’s society, and inspiring creative solutions to the conundrums we are bound to find.
Through the publication of blog-posts, opinions, and interviews we will provide an insight into the interaction of human culture and technology and how these two fields are in a continuous hand-in-hand evolution, influencing and shaping each other. The research will investigate the different ways in which society and culture are affected by technology and the understanding of technology by actors in society.
