The New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, (NJAHPERD) invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2016 Annual Convention. This convention will be held at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa on the beachfront in Long Branch, NJ on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February 21 - 23, 2016. Convention programming is based primarily on this annual “Call for Proposals” bringing practical and relevant information to HPERD professionals and students. By featuring you and your peers as presenters, NJAHPERD provides convention attendees with the strongest forum for information exchange, problem solving, and networking on the state level.

Registration: Presenters are required to register for the convention, however, NJAHPERD will waive the one-day registration fee on the day you present. Presenters who attend on a day they are not presenting will be required to pay registration fee to attend that day. NJAHPERD membership is required, if applicable.

Limit on number of sessions: Presenters will be limited to a maximum of two presentations. Maximum of 3 speakers per session.

Session choices: Pre-Convention Workshops: 1/2 day or full day on Sunday
Convention Sessions: 60 minute sessions or 120 minute sessions.

All presenters MUST be current NJAHPERD members if eligible for membership.

Speakers are required to provide an electronic informational handout prior to the convention and if applicable, include an assessment tool for student learning.

Presentation Submission Deadline: September 30th or at discretion of Planning Committee.

Acceptance/Rejection Notification: Beginning November 1
Time/Date Confirmation: Beginning December 1
Electronic submission of informational handout: December 31  
 
Selection Criteria: Proposals received by the September 30th deadline will be reviewed by the convention planning committee. Your proposal will be evaluated on the following:  
 
Overall quality and innovation of presentation
Practical application of information/materials
Application to NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards, if applicable.
 
Speaker Incentives: NJAHPERD appreciates the time and effort of our speakers. Although we can not provide honorariums to our members, we do offer the following incentives.  

Speakers receive complimentary registration for the day of session. $60 value
Additional Professional Development Hours may be available for session preparation.
A letter sent to principal or supervisor upon request.
Hospitality Room with refreshments.
Speaker gift
Networking and sharing your expertise with others to improve instruction in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance and Sports & Athletic programs.
