F.A.Q.1. What should I bring? // Comfortable walking shoes are recommended because we will be walking around to see the sights of camp. Don't wear your new white sneakers, camp can be dusty! Bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated is recommended because of the elevation. Please email us for more information about what to pack if you are staying at Camp on Friday night.
2. We are traveling from out of town, where can we stay Friday night and Saturday night? // For a small donation, families can stay AT Hye Camp on Friday night! Otherwise, families typically stay with friends & family in Fresno or get a hotel in Fresno for Saturday night and/or Friday night.
3. What's the weather? // On average in April, the highs are in the 60's during the day and the lows are in the 40's during the night.
4. Schedule? // The program is from 10:30a to 3:30p on Saturday, April 27th. The schedule from last year included an Orientation/Continental Breakfast, a tour of camp and the cabins, a BBQ lunch, a Q&A with the directors while the kiddos do an art project & games, and a proper campfire.
5. Directions? // The directions on Google Maps to "Hye Camp" are accurate. Follow the well-marked signs for "Armenian Summer Camp" when in doubt. The roads are paved asphalt maintained by the county. The snow will be clear by late April and the roads will be in good condition. My Civic can handle the drive, for reference.
6. Food? // We will provide snacks & num-nums for families that arrive on Friday night, a continental breakfast & refreshments on Saturday morning, and a BBQ lunch on Saturday.
