2014 Eugene Celebration Parade Entry Application

The Parade will take place Saturday, August 23, 2014

• 8:00 am: Parade Central opens at the South Eugene High School parking lot for staging and parade prep (Pet Parade Central will open later, and at a different location--TBD!)
• 10:30 am: Pet Parade Begins (slightly shorter route--see website for more information TBA)
• 11:00 am: Parade Begins
• 5:30 pm: Eugene Celebration $5 Concert at the Cuthbert Amphitheater begins, featuring Hell's Belles, Zepparella, and Foreverland. The Award Ceremony for the Parade will take place between sets, at 6:30 pm. All parade entries will receive two pairs (4 total) tickets to this Awards Ceremony/Concert.

DATES TO REMEMBER:
July 31: Initial parade entry deadline--all applications and payments must be received to avoid an increase in fees. After this date, all fees will increase by 50%
August 12: Final parade entry deadline--all fees must be paid, and no entries will be accepted after this time
August 15: Parade staging information goes out by email
August 20: Any required insurance documentation (see Proof of Insurance, below) must be on file at the Celebration Parade office

    Parade Policies

    1. All applications must be received by the TUESDAY AUGUST 12, 2014 final deadline and are subject to review by the all-volunteer Parade Committee. 2. The Eugene Celebration Parade welcomes diversity in all events and activities. All individuals, nonprofit organizations, churches and businesses are invited to submit an application. 3. Entries are selected for the Eugene Celebration Parade on the basis of uniqueness and imagination, so all entries should be decorated and entertaining. Those planning entries should remember a large part of the audience will be children. ZANY- not crazy! 4. ABSOLUTELY NO MATERIAL MAY BE HANDED OUT OR THROWN ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE. Parade participants are prohibited from distributing merchandise, gifts, candy, literature or other materials. 5. PARADE DELAY CAUSED BY ANY ENTRY MAY RESULT IN DEDUCTION OF COMPETITION POINTS OR DISQUALIFICATION FROM COMPETITION. 6. All entries that include animals must have their own pooper scooper! 7. All commercial entries, entries that include motorized vehicles, and ENTRIES WITH MORE THAN 20 PARTICIPANTS must have proof of insurance on file at the Eugene Celebration office. You can find more information about insurance requirements, below. 8. The Eugene Celebration Parade reserves the right to deny participation, day of parade, if entry details vary from original accepted application. The committee and management also reserve the right to remove an entrant at any time for errant or inappropriate behavior as decided by the Parade Management.

    Proof of Insurance

    Motorized Vehicles: • All entrants with motorized vehicles must file a copy of their Certificate of Liability Insurance form with the Eugene Celebration office in order to participate in the Eugene Celebration Parade. You can obtain this form from your auto insurance agent, or from your business insurance agent. • If the "insured contact" on the insurance form is NOT the same as your "entrant contact" on this application, please designate the "entrant contact" on the form. • Entrants agree to provide the Eugene Celebration with a copy of a current certificate of insurance covering the entrant or sponsoring organization, to remain on file during the Eugene Celebration. This must be received at the Eugene Celebration office by WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2014. Commercial Entries and Entries with more than 20 participants: • Commercial entrants and entries with more than 20 participants must provide Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) insurance having a combined single limit of $1,000,000 covering bodily injury, personal injury and property damage, additionally insuring the Eugene Celebration Parade. • An insurance certificate verifying the above limits must be filed with the Eugene Celebration Parade office with the signed agreement and must contain the following provisions: a) KESEY ENTERPRISES and the CITY OF EUGENE are to be named as additional insured with respect to any liability arising from participation in the Eugene Celebration Parade on the CGL. b) The insurance certificate shall state that the policies certified are scheduled to be in effect at the time of the Eugene Celebration Parade: August 23, 2014. • Certificate of Liability Insurance must be on file with The Eugene Celebration office by WEDNESDAY AUGUST 20, 2014, or entry will be denied at staging.

    Entry Fees

    There are four fee-based entry categories (school bands are not required to pay an entry fee). Please read all choices carefully before making your determination. Commercial Entry: Any and all for-profit businesses and organizations. Any entry that displays an advertising message! Entry fee by end-of-business JULY 31: $200 By end-of-business AUGUST 12: $300 Nonprofit / Private Entry: Any and all not-for-profit businesses and organizations. Includes churches, schools, community organizations, nonprofit agencies, neighborhood groups, government agencies, and private individuals. Entry fee by JULY 31: $90 By AUGUST 12: $135 Parade Partner Entry: The joint entry of a business and a nonprofit entity! This category is open to any business that already sponsors a nonprofit organization or school group and would like to march together with them in the parade. The two groups constitute one entry and pay one fee. (Both groups should participate in planning and creating the entry. Both groups will receive staging information.) ***Please fill out your partner's contact information, below*** Entry fee by JULY 31: $150 By AUGUST 12: $225 Candidate or PAC Entry: Any and all candidates running for political office, or currently holding an office, or any registered Political Action Committee. Entry fee by JULY 31: $350 By AUGUST 12: $525

    Release Agreement

    In consideration for Kesey Enterprises, Inc. allowing the above described business or organization to participate in the Eugene Celebration Parade, I, the undersigned, being duly authorized by the application vendor and on its behalf, and on behalf of its personal representatives, owners, employees, volunteers, agents, hereby waive, discharge, and release any and all rights and claims for injury or damages to myself or others, loss or damage to personal property and the property of the organization, including theft or vandalism thereof, that may be suffered as a result of said participation in the Eugene Celebration Parade and further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Eugene Celebration Parade and Kesey Enterprises, Inc, their respective officers, agents, employees and volunteers, from any and all actions, claims and causes of action arising out of said participation in the Parade. On behalf of myself, the above described business or organization and its employees, volunteers, and agents, I further authorize the taking and use of photograph images of the booth, personal representatives, employees, volunteers and agents, associated with said business or organization for future promotional use by the Eugene Celebration and Parade or Kesey Enterprises, Inc. and waive any and all rights to said images or revenue derived from said images.
