The Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement Program is an 8-session, in-person training designed to equip participants with civic knowledge, communication skills, and real-world community engagement experience. Participants complete eight structured sessions (Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM), covering:
- Communication, Body Language & Elevator Pitch
- Introduction to Government & Why Elections Matter
- Legislative Process & How Officials Prioritize Issues
- Research Questions, Surveys, A/B Testing & Data Analysis
- Marketing & Segmentation
- Community Outreach & Field Operations
- Leadership & Success
- Final Exam
The program emphasizes learning by doing, culminating in a 20–25 hour supervised volunteering practicum with civic and community organizations.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certification of Completion, verified volunteer hours, and become eligible for potential paid civic engagement opportunities based on performance and interest.
Performance is evaluated through:
- Seven session assignments (35%)
- Participation (15%)
- Final Exam (50%)
A minimum score of 75% is required to pass. Attendance is mandatory. One review and makeup session is held before the final exam.
