2011-2012 University Leadership Summit Nomination
The University Leadership Summit is a program designed to bring together the top undergraduate student leaders on campus for discussions surrounding campus issues. Students are only invited to apply after being nominated by a UK Faculty, Staff, or Administrator. This year-long leadership experience is comprised of a 3-day leadership retreat in the fall and a series of monthly Leadership Summits throughout the school year. These gatherings allow participants to collaborate with University administrators and student leaders to create change addressing campus issues.
The University Leadership Summit program is based upon the premise that leadership is the process of creating positive change. We believe that leadership is more than just having a position or a title. Therefore, we are looking to find UK students who truly lead -- students who create positive change; students who influence others; students who make things happen. This could be the president of a student organization, a “behind the scenes” leader, or someone who you think has tremendous potential to make an impact here on campus.
Any undergraduate student who will be a sophomore, junior, or senior next year is eligible to apply. Additionally, if students participated last year, they are welcome to apply again as long as they are nominated through this process.
PLEASE NOTE: We ask that you don’t simply email us a “roster” of your program leaders. Please take a minute to identify the best of the best. You may gauge your nominations by asking yourself, “Is this student or could this student be one of the top 100 student leaders on this campus?”
