We are medical students from Tanta University faculty of medicine and members of the research program represented by TIA (Tanta Innovators Association)  We are eliciting what is called Depression project as trial to get close to medical student problem based on research work hoping to help our colleagues by finding solutions to their problems by ( EBM )Evidenc Based Medicine .

This wave one of our work represented by
1-Multi centeric comparative cross sectional study to assess the prevalence and risk factors of depression among medical students in Egypt
2-Wave 2 will be a prospective study based on wave 1  

Introduction
Depression produces the greatest decrement in health compared with the chronic diseases angina, arthritis, asthma, and diabetes. University students experience rates of depression that are substantially higher than those found in the general population.The studies suggest a high prevalence of depression and anxiety among medical students, with levels of overall psychological distress consistently higher than in the general population and age-matched peers by the later years of training.Since there is no data available about the prevalence of depression among the Egyptian medical students
and the strategies of medical learning differs from one country to another, it is important to conduct that research to know more about this problem in Egypt.
