94.9 FM ZUMIX Radio is a community station, powered by youth. We broadcast the voices and culture of Boston youth through music, stories and bilingual conversation.
After streaming on the web for ten years, ZUMIX Radio became a low power FM station in 2016, broadcasting 24 hours a day. We open our doors to adult members of the community to host programs weekdays 11-3pm, and Saturdays 10-4pm.
Our goal is to share diverse music and content that reflects the many voices and perspectives of our community. You don't need to have any experience to have a radio show here. All you need is the desire to learn more about the art of radio and a willingness to align with our core values as an arts-based youth development program.
Thanks for your interest! We review show proposals quarterly with our volunteer programming committee and will get back to you after our next meeting. The committee awards time slots based upon criteria such as availability, quality of content and relevance to our community. While we consider all applicants, we have limited availability in our studio schedule.
Youth shows applications from Firehouse Radio graduates will be reviewed by radio staff.
For consideration in our next round, please submit your proposal by Spring TBA at midnight.
