Individual Differences In the Evaluation of Verbal Quantifiers

This study aims to investigate how the interpretation of quantity information is affected by individual differences. In this study you will be asked to estimate as a percentage, how much you think each statement refers to, regardless of whether the statement seems plausible or not. After each question you will be asked whether you think the statement is true or not. Each statement will be expressed with different quantity words throughout the study so you will see variations of each statement several times.

In the second part of the study you will be asked to answer some questions from the AQ questionnaire which is being used here to assess individual differences in traits associated with autism. During this part you will be asked to indicate whether you definitely agree/slightly agree/ slightly disagree/definitely disagree, in response to statements such as ”I am willing to take risks”.

The questionnaire will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Please note that this test is not a diagnostic test, that we are using the test for research purposes, and that your participation is anonymous. It is not possible for us to send you information about your performance on this, or any other part of the test.

Participation in this study is voluntary and confidential and any data will not be stored alongside any of your personal details.

You have the right to at any time withdraw from participation without giving any reason. If you decide to withdraw from the study any recorded responses will be discarded. Furthermore, the responses will be entirely anonymous, and there will be no way for individual participants to be identified.
