INFO: The walk will take approximately two and a half hours. The walk will begin at the Prestwich Memorial on the corner of Buitengracht Street and Somerset Road, and end at the Iziko Slave Lodge, which is near the Company Gardens. Some of the group may like to extend the conversation by meeting up for lunch at one of the restaurants in the garden or by having a picnic there.
The Truth Coffee Shop at Prestwich Memorial is open from 7am. Limited street parking is available at the Prestwich Memorial and the Iziko Slave Lodge. For UCT staff and students, there is also the option of parking at or catching the UCT shuttle to Hiddingh Campus and walking to the Prestwich Memorial, which takes about 20 minutes.
