SUMA Net Impact is a graduate student-led chapter of Net Impact at Columbia University and our mission is to create a space for students to work on sustainability-related projects that create tangible impact on a local scale. SUMA Net Impact aids students in gaining knowledge and experience working in the field of sustainability, which both benefits the community and helps students become more effective agents of positive environmental and social change. SUMA Net Impact also hosts events related to these projects to help project teams enhance skill sets required throughout the semester.
Director of Operations:The Director of Operations is a new position that will be responsible for establishing our rules of engagement with clients, faculty advisors, as well as Net Impact Central. The Director of Operations will also be responsible for business development for SUMANI clients and providing the resources necessary for students to succeed such as toolkits and workshops.
Director of Events and Finance: The Director of Events is responsible for planning and executing events that will benefit both the project teams and the broader SUMA student community, including inviting and coordinating with external speakers; and also maintains the budget related communications with Earth Institute.
These positions generally require a commitment of 3-4 hours per week.
