Temple Beth Torah Public Stance Proposal Form
Temple Beth Torah members may take a public stance regarding a social justice issue, per the Temple Beth Torah approved the "Public Stance Policy".
Any Temple member who is interested in taking an action as a public stance should complete this Public Stance Proposal Form.
The proposal will be reviewed by the Public Stance Proposal Review Group, a sub-committee of the Board of Directors. A member of the Review Group will contact you and will serve as liaison for the approval process. The goal is to reach a decision within 14 days of receipt of the application.
It is the assumption of the Review Group that the applicant will have engaged other TBT members in discussion and participation in planning the proposed action. (This application is not meant to suggest an action that other members of TBT should take up, separate from the petitioner.)
Proposals for timely action will be considered when an immediate community response to a recent event is being organized. For example, an emergency rally is being organize at Town Hall in the aftermath of a local/national tragedy or incident that calls for a community response. This means that a previously scheduled event, but one that has just come to the attention of a TBT member, will NOT be considered for immediate action. For a proposal requiring immediate action, the Committee asks for 72 hours turn-around, excluding Shabbat and Jewish holidays and Rabbi vacation and non-work days.
Please submit this form so that the Public Stance Proposal Review Group can consider the action for which you seek approval.
