What is In-Mind?

In-Mind is a volunteer project for psychological science communication. We enable scientifically working psychologists to present their research topics in a scientifically sound, understandable and entertaining way to an interested audience: Psychology by scientists for everyone. The core of the project are longer journal articles from all areas of psychology. The publications are free of charge and without advertising. Who are we looking for?

We are looking for motivated scientists to join us in our mission to communicate psychological research. We welcome scientists of all experience levels and psychological disciplines. We are looking for people from all around the world. Currently, the team consists of people from Germany and Sweden and we would love to have more diversity. Also, we are specifically looking for people who are native English speakers as we publish all texts in English.

 1. Editors

To ensure quality, submitted articles undergo a peer review process in which other academic experts evaluate the articles for scientific accuracy and readability. The editors work directly with the submissions and identify appropriate reviewers. Unlike traditional journals, articles provide only a brief overview (1500-2000 words) of a psychological research topic (e.g., are there learning styles; how does human touch work; how does the brain process art).

2. Digital support

A lot of behind-the-scenes work goes into making a magazine work. This includes, for example, managing our social media channels (@InMindMagazine; @in-mindmagazine.bsky.social) or administrative tasks such as publishing articles on our website, answering emails, planning meetings, improving work-flows etc.
