Education Policy 101: 2025 Courses
Would you like to improve your understanding of schools and education policy in England? With former teacher Harry Fletcher-Wood, and other experts, we have designed a unique foundational training course, Education Policy 101. This is a one-day, in-person, primer for people in - or considering - roles in government, policy or politics, but without a grounding in this core domain.

Sessions cover history of education policy, learning and pedagogy, funding, accountability, structures, and curriculum, aiming to give participants a basic grounding and insights to inform their better appreciation of a core public service. The structure of the day allows time for questions and debate, building relationships with other participants, and session leaders.

Express your interest early as spaces are limited.

A great primer on the English education system. A must for anyone interested in working in education policy.
Matt Burnett, Policy Manager, Institute of Physics.

This was brilliant - a whistle-stop tour of the key areas, led by experts in the field, that didn't shy away from the policy tensions.

You are learning directly from people who have been at the heart of education policy in England.

Informative, engaging and provocative, Civic Future's Ed policy session should be a must for all those who are passionate about making the quality of education provision in our country world class.
