Adrian (1-1) at Ann Arbor Pioneer (1-1) *
This is the first game between the two schools since 2008. I look for Pioneers running back Bryce Young to have another big night. His 229 yards last week was one of the best rushing performances so far this season across the state. He might not exceed that total, but he should help his team control the game. Pioneer, 24-15
Ann Arbor Skyline (0-2) at Tecumseh (1-1)
Skyline desperately needs a win, but I’m not sure this is where they get it. Tecumseh has reached the playoffs in each of the past two seasons, and the Eagles struggled on the road last week. Tecumseh, 31-17
Clear selection
Britton-Deerfield (2-0) at Whitmore Lake (1-1) *
Whitmore Lake has lost three in a row to its Tri-County rival. The Trojans offense is struggling with only 26 points in two games. I’m not sure they will be able to keep pace against a Patriots team that has score more than 30 points in their past eight wins. Britton-Deerfield, 36-14
Chelsea (2-0) at Ann Arbor Huron (1-1) - Game of the Week *
Chelsea has an important SEC White showdown next week against Ypsilanti, but it can’t overlook the River Rats. Huron almost handed Ypsilanti Lincoln a loss last week, and has played well its first two weeks of the season. I don’t think the Bulldogs will let up though, and they have too many offensive weapons for Huron to handle. Chelsea, 31-10
Manchester (1-1) at Vandercook Lake (1-1) *
Manchester has had a pretty strong handle on Vandercook Lake. The Flying Dutchmen have a win streak going back to 1996 against their Cascades conference rival. Manchester’s special teams helped it start conference play with a win, but this game should give their offense an opportunity to get rolling. Manchester, 35-13
Milan (1-1) at Monroe Jefferson (0-2)
Milan isn’t executing on offense like it wants to so far this season, but the Big Reds’ defense is giving them a chance to win games. Even if Milan’s offense has another off week, it should be able to score enough points to get past Monroe Jefferson. Milan, 24-10
Clear selection
Saline (1-1) at Dexter (0-2)
It will be interesting to see how Saline’s two quarterback platoon evolves over the course of the season. Trent Theisen and Josh Jackson both played well last week, and I expect them to keep that momentum going with a win over Dexter. Saline 42-13
Clear selection
Temperance Bedford (0-2) at Ypsilanti (2-0)
Ypsilanti shows flashes of brilliance, but it has yet to string that together across four quarters. Even though the Grizzlies aren’t perfect, they still have some really dynamic athletes. I think their talented offense gets them to 3-0 this week. Ypsilanti, 38-24
Clear selection
Ypsilanti Lincoln (1-1) at Monroe (1-1)
I had predicted Lincoln as winning the SEC White to start the season, so I’m as surprised as anyone that they almost opened the season 0-2. I think it needs a win here to rebuild some confidence. Offense needs to start putting some points on the board. Lincoln, 28-21
Clear selection
Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard (2-0) at Allen Park Cabrini (0-2) – 1 p.m.; Saturday
Not sure if Gabriel Richard will go for 50 points again, but it shouldn’t have a problem rolling to 3-0. Gabriel Richard, 49-13
