Welcome to the Summer 2013 edition of the Texas A&M Triathlon Training Challenge! The summer rules will stay mostly the same as previous years - "points" are earned by workout duration and not by mileage.
The training challenge will begin Saturday, August 3rd, and end Friday, August 30th (the weekend before our first meeting, which will be 8PM in REC 281 on Sunday, Sept. 1st).
Week 1: 12AM 8/3 - 11:59PM 8/9 (submit by Sunday 8/11, 11:59PM)
Week 2: 12AM 8/10 - 11:59PM 8/16 (submit by Sunday 8/18, 11:59PM)
Week 3: 12AM 8/17 - 11:59PM 8/23 (submit by Sunday 8/25, 11:59PM)
Week 4: 12AM 8/24 - 11:59PM 8/30 (submit by Saturday 8/31, 11:59PM)
Each challenge week will be from Saturday at 12AM to Friday at 11:59pm of the following week.
How to earn points:
30 minutes swim = 1 point (max 1 per day and max 5 points per week)
30 minutes bike = 1 point (max 1 per day and max 5 points per week)
30 minutes run = 1 point (max 1 per day and max 5 points per week)
30 minutes cross train = 1 point (max 1 per day and max 2 points per week). Cross train is strength training, cardio machines, physical therapy, or sports w/friends like ultimate frisbee or soccer.
Bike-run brick = 0.5 points (max 1 point per week). Each brick must have included a full bike point and run point.
Race = 1 point (max once per week)
Workout with a friend to complete any of the above = 1 additional point (max 1 per day and max 3 points per week). Here's your chance to convince all your friends to join the team... y'all have friends... right?
Consistency wins the summer training challenge! Remember that! Dust off those shoes and lube up that bike because it is time to get back in shape!
