Welcome!
This full-day retreat for therapists and healing professionals offers a unique and professional container in which to explore presence -- the before, the beyond, and the now. Together, we dive into a realm where there is stillness, embodiment, imagination, sound/music, all called in as resources for the therapeutic setting and for one’s own life.

As therapists and healers, we often use language and the power of cognitive understanding to unravel unhealthy patterns and historical wounds. As we lead clients in and through, we might arrive at wordless places, places in the body where events and stories are stored. We may explore inner worlds unnamed, the precious birthright of our body, our breath and the intelligence of being itself. Before all our “parts” coalesced into the structure of our personality system, there was wholeness, infinitely natural and available.

An interplay of embodiment, contemplation, creativity, and mystery, our practices will connect us to our bodies, our creative and physical impulses, and to our own sensitivity and empowerment.

KATH WEIDER MA, Vocal Freedom Studio, is an artist and weaver of magic who offers vocal discovery sessions to support healing, vocal confidence, awakening through sound and connection. Enjoy some of Kath's Chants & Song Prayers here, though much of Kath's gift occurs in the improvisational space, as she invites people into different ways to play, deepen, and connect to their own vocal instrument through group and individual sessions.

STEFANIE COHEN, MA, RSMT/E, Moving Stories: Discovering the Body’s Wisdom Through Movement, is a trauma-informed Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist and multidisciplinary artist who offers centering, contemplative, embodied practices to facilitate clarity, authenticity, agency, and meaning. Stefanie guides individual somatic therapy sessions and ongoing somatic groups in the discipline of Authentic Movement, in Ann Arbor and Detroit.

CARRIE HATCHER-KAY, PhD, Partners in Healing Psychotherapy Training Affiliates is a psychologist whose practice and community service are founded in affirming individuals’, families’, and communities’ inherent wisdoms. She offers psychotherapy and individual and group consultation, integrating Parts Work, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, and family systems approaches with neuroscience and spiritual wisdom traditions, supporting people deepening into their own innate impulse toward transformation and healing.
