The Outstanding Practitioner Award was established to recognize an outstanding counselor whose time is spent primarily in direct counseling services. The purpose of this award would be to honor excellence in the actual practice of counseling. Examples of persons eligible for the award include school counselors, group counselors, rehabilitation counselors, community counselors, counselors in private practice, counselors working in college/university settings, pastoral counselors, or substance abuse counselors.
