Informed Consent
Please read the explanation of our study below, and then proceed with the survey if you wish to continue. All questions are optional.
Purpose of the study:
To assess the perception and quality of the services offered by the Daytona State College Writing Center, and to use these assessments in published research about writing center methods and their effects.
Methodology and duration of participant involvement:
This study’s methods include surveying clients about their consultations or workshops, asking tutors to complete session reports, and analyzing the data gathered from these instruments to determine the perception and quality of our services. Participants should only need to contribute about five minutes of their time to fill out these documents.
Potential risks and benefits of participation:
There are no foreseeable risks to participating in this study. The potential benefit is that participants may help improve the quality of the services offered by the CWC and improve the general knowledge in the field of writing center study.
Statement of data confidentiality:
Participants have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without negative consequences. Any participants who reveal their names within the surveys/session reports will have those names concealed in any presentations or publications about the research.
