The scholarship fund was established in February 2002 by memorial funds from the family and friends of Wilbert Sensel. Additional contributions continue to support the scholarship.
The scholarship will help young people enrich their lives through continuing their education.
The scholarship award is up to $2,000 per recipient.
Application Criteria
- Applicants must be a senior in high school and/or not have reached their nineteenth birthday on or before September 1, 2025.
- Applicants must have been enrolled and active* in a 4-H club for at least the last four consecutive years. (*attended four meetings each year & presented a talk/demo each year)
- The applicant must be a resident of Monroe County and/or reside in the Waterloo, Columbia, Valmeyer or Red Bud school district.
- 4-H members can only receive the scholarship once.
- Applicants must be accepted into or be attending a post-high school education program.
- Applicants must submit two character references with application, with one letter from your 4-H club leader and one from another source. (i.e. teacher, Extension staff, etc.).
- The application must be signed by the applicant.
- Completed applications must be submitted by April 15, 2026.
- Recipients must provide information on the Office of Student Finical Aid Form where the scholarship recipient check will be sent.
- Recipients are encouraged to continue in 4-H as long as they are age eligible.
Incomplete applications will not be awarded a scholarship
