Background & Purpose of Study: The purpose of this study is to explore perceptions of individuals belonging to more than one historically underrepresented or marginalized population related to discrimination in interactions with registered nurses in the four spheres of nursing care. 

Study Procedures and Time Involvement: If you agree to participate, you will respond to a brief survey that is estimated to take approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete.

 Benefits: Results from this research will inform the development of shadowboxing videos to be used in undergraduate nursing education. Results of this study may be dispersed via publication in a professional journal or presentation at a conference to inform curricular design for undergraduate nursing education. There is no compensation offered for participation in this survey. 

Risks: Risks associated with participation in this research are minimal and not greater than those ordinarily encountered in daily life.

Confidentiality: The identity of participants in this study will remain anonymous. You are not required to provide any identifying information during this survey. If a participant volunteers their identity and contact information, their survey responses and identity will still remain anonymous except to the researchers. At the end of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to provide their name and contact information as an indication of interest in sitting for an interview with the researchers.

Participant’s Rights: Your participation is voluntary, and you have the right to withdraw your consent or discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are entitled. You can choose not to participate.
