ANNOUNCEMENT: At this time we are only accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.

REQUIREMENTS:

By filling out this form, you agree to be the coordinator between the Safe Routes to School Team and your Sonoma County site or organization. Please do not fill out this application unless you have the authority to schedule and coordinate an event that will utilize your facility and blacktop space on a weekend day and will entail coordination with whoever manages your facility/space on weekends.

The following criteria are considered when evaluating sites for selection, particularly if demand for workshops should exceed staff/schedule capacity. Criteria is NOT listed in any particular order.

2) Location of site (we strive to reach as many jurisdictions as possible)
3) Bikeability/potential for families to bicycle to school
4) School population/demographics
5) Previous years of service
6) #/type of walk/bike encouragement activities planned
7) Date/time frame requested

Family Bike Workshops are typically scheduled on weekend days, usually from 10:00am-12:30pm, between the months of March-November. For a 10am event, SRTS staff arrive on site at 8am, set-up on the blacktop, and remain for about 1/2 hour after the workshop ends. Depending on the size of your blacktop, we may need all or a portion of the space. With this in mind, please provide three (3) possible weekend dates you would like us to visit, in order of preference. Your preferences help us balance requests from multiple sites and organizations. *

Sites receiving a Family Bike Workshop are required to implement walk/bike to school encouragement activities. Please indicate what you will be doing in the 2017-18 school year to encourage students to utilize active transportation to/from school. *
