Online Advising Request for Students with Prior Credit

    Please review the important information below and follow the instructions to submit a request for online advising. Who is eligible to request online advising? Online advising is available for visiting students and students with prior college experience who have completed 12 or more transferrable credit hours. New and visiting students with less than 12 hours of college-level credit are not eligible to request online advising and must attend a ConnectSession – Durham Tech’s student orientation. What must I do prior to submitting a request for online advising? All visiting and new students with prior college credit must submit an official copy of college transcripts and placement test scores (if applicable) for evaluation of transfer credits and verification of prerequisites by the priority deadline. If you miss this due date and your transcripts or test scores are not processed at the time of submission, your request for online advising will not be approved. You will receive an email in your ConnectMail account when your transcript evaluation is complete. You can also check your WebAdvisor account to view transfer credits. Please request transcripts from other colleges attended and send them to the following address: Student Information and Records office Durham Technical Community College 1637 Lawson Street Durham, NC 27703 or The school can send electronically to transcripts@durhamtech.edu You may also use the link below to complete a transcript request form to send to your school(s): http://www.durhamtech.edu/html/prospective/transcr.pdf Unofficial transcripts cannot be used for the online advising request process. Please do not attach unofficial transcripts to your request for online advising. Any official placement test scores (not taken at Durham Tech) should be submitted to the Testing Center prior to the priority due date for processing. If you need to take a placement test, please visit the Placement Testing web page to view the schedule. Tests should be completed at least 24 hours prior to submitting this form. Questions?     If online advising is an option for you and you are able to demonstrate that you have met the prerequisites for the courses you plan to take, please follow the instructions below. If your request is approved, you will receive an email granting you permission to register using our WebAdvisor system. We will also notify you if we are unable to approve your request, so please be sure to check your ConnectMail account regularly.
