Spring 2026 Airport Pickup January 4-10
Are you a NEW Texas Tech international student arriving for your first semester at TTU in Lubbock?

If so, this service is for you! If you wish to be picked up at the Lubbock Airport when you arrive, please fill out all of this information.  We will use this information to reach out to you prior to your arrival in Lubbock, as well as to communicate with you when you arrive here in Lubbock. Please note this is a program we offer in partnership with local community members, so a pickup cannot be guaranteed, but we will do all we can to accommodate your pickup needs! Your communication is also essential to make this process efficient and smooth.

  • What if my flight changes? Should any changes be made to your flight plans after you fill out this form, PLEASE let us know of these changes as soon as possible (by emailing beth.mora@ttu.edu with the subject line "changes to airport pickup needs"). This allows us to serve you best as well as create a positive experience for our volunteers who are picking you up on behalf of the International Affairs Office.
  • What if my flight comes in REALLY late? That is ok! We have all flown internationally and know that sometimes these flights arrive late.   
  • What days are available for the Pick-Up Program? We only offer 6 days of pickup, and we can ONLY accommodate pickups for yourself (the student) and one family member/friend. You also should know we will only accept requests made at least 5 days ahead of your arrival, so plan accordingly. 
  • What if I need to be picked up outside of the listed program dates? Unfortunately you will need to organize your own transportation if you arrive outside the listed dates for the program. Uber and Lyft, as well as taxis, are available, and reliable and safe resources to use. It is recommended that if you wish to use Uber and Lyft, you download these apps and build your account/s ahead of arrival in Lubbock, to lessen stress upon arrival. If you are unable to do so, or you have any trouble with arranging such, inquire with airport staffers or security who are always present there at the airport. They are there to help and absolutely will help if you ask for it!
  • Who are the volunteers? This is a volunteer-based program, facilitated by two members in the Office of International Affair's International Student Life team. Volunteers are vetted by our team, many are volunteers who have been with the program for years, and are often alumni, fellow students, staff or faculty who want to make your experience in Lubbock the best experience possible!
  • What if I have guests/family coming with me? We can support you and one guest. If you are bringing several people with you, then we recommend using a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft.

5 days notice: All students needing a ride from the airport  must complete this form 5-business days prior to your anticipated arrival date to Lubbock. Planning and scheduling is needed to organize the many pick ups we run during this time, which requires adequate planning time. We cannot make any guarantees that we will be able to provide you with a pick-up if your request is submitted less than 5 days before your arrival. *
