BLVSH Beginners Vinyl Course
BLVSH was created for the exposure, peer support, and promotion of new FINTGA* talents. The Berlin-based DJ/producer collective is committed to contributing to a much-needed increase in the visibility of women, trans and non-binary folks.
BLVSH has grown to become a platform and network dedicated to promoting new talents through mixes, radio shows, interviews and events. The collective also gives vinyl and digital-mixing workshops and puts on feminist exhibitions in order to create interdisciplinary spaces where artists come to exchange and connect.
BLVSH is hosting a six-week DJing course together in partnership with Refuge Worldwide. Participants will be able to practice DJing with vinyl at the radio studio, get individual feedback, ask questions in a non-judgmental environment and develop a support network.
This course is for absolute beginners. The first two sessions will be introduction workshops with a mentor, where all the aspects of vinyl-mixing will be discussed, this will be followed by sessions dedicated to practising. There will also be a day trip dedicated to going record shopping and learning how to dig for some golden gems. The last practice session will be a chance for everyone to come together, have some evening drinks and showcase their DJing skills.
Feel free to bring your own headphones and records if you have any. We can also provide them for those who don't.
