The purpose of this survey is to look at educational and workforce skills that are developed through participation in robotics.
The data collected in this survey will be used in a doctoral study which is looking at the use of robotics as an educational tool. Robotics provides opportunities for students to learn skills in many different areas: which is the basis for data collection in this study. Adults who work with robotics students have first hand knowledge of the opportunities that students have through robotics; as a result your opinion and experiences are important to the depth of information this study collects.
Questions marked with an * need to be answered: questions without an * are optional. Your experiences and knowledge, as an adult working with robotics, are essential to this study.
This robotics survey is in two parts: first, your thoughts about robotics are collected, then your thoughts are collected about opportunities for students to develop and/or learn particular skills through robotics. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.
Capella Consent Form
I am a doctoral learner in the School of School of Business and Technology at Capella University. I am doing a research study that focuses on skills learned through competitive Robotics. This research is being supervised by Dr. Bernard Sharum. I would like to invite you to participate in this research study. The main purpose of this form is to provide information about the research, so that you can make an informed decision about whether you want to participate. If you choose to participate, please select the yes option, listed immediately after this consent form.
WHAT IS THE RESEARCH ABOUT?
The purpose of this study is to determine the value and impact of FIRST Robotics Competition on students’ education during the 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition build season.
WHAT DOES PARTICIPATION IN THIS RESEARCH STUDY INVOLVE?
