          (1) Do you have a noticeable stain or burn in your carpeting? (2) It's a problem you can correct. (3) First, use a sharp utility knife to cut out the damaged area (but not the padding underneath). Second, cut a patch the same size and shape from a leftover piece of carpet or a spot of carpeting that's not noticeable, such as under a sofa. (5) Next, cut a piece of cardboard a little larger than the patch. (6) Then place the cardboard where you cut out the damaged piece of carpet. (7) Last, glue the carpet patch to the cardboard.
