Towards zero-waste operating theatres
University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and the Bristol and Weston Procurement Consortium are committed to supporting the transition to a circular economy.

Working with our clinical staff we have identified an unmet need for a range of solutions, services and alternative products that will support the transition to zero-waste operating theatres.

This initiative is supported by NHS England and NHS Improvement and Healthcare Without Harm Europe, and has attracted considerable interest from other NHS Trusts and networks.

More information can be found in the Joint Statement of Demand at: https://www.ecoquip.eu/zero-waste.html

The JSoD describes the current situation and its limitations, why innovation is needed, and the outcomes required of new and alternative solutions.
